A lifelong solo road runner who was getting run down and turning to other forms of exercise, I ran into Michelle H on a weekend run near Wirth Lake. She told me about Missing Link and that it meets in the field across the street from the house we had recently moved into! Running trails with Bit and this group has been transformation!
Missing Link is the highlight of my week. I moved to Minnesota and knew nobody, and in less than a year, had a gaggle of friends who convinced me to make the same bad decisions they do and a coach to help me figure out how. They showed me I could run ultramarathons, cheered for me at the finish line, paced me, and even cared for me after knee surgery! 10/10
I thought ultras were crazy, until I was surrounded by a group who ran them. Now I've run several with Bitner's encouragement, including my first 100k at Afton State Park when all races were canceled in 2020 and my first 100mi race at Mines of Spain in 2022. Along the way, I've met some of my dearest friends who keep me coming back!
I don't run much -- but when I do, it's with Missing Link. I like getting out and enjoying nature with smiling, friendly people. Might as well run around in circles.
I value how welcoming everyone in Missing Link Running has been! From my first interaction in chat to my first workout - everyone has been so encouraging and warm!
Log into the Water Cooler chat on WhatsApp and you will see that this group of folks is basically nuts - but when it comes to figuring out endurance (with all the ups and downs), it is a group that really cares about each other and knows how to support, encourage, and welcome all.
